What is Arthroscopy?
Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat joint problems through tiny incisions. A small camera called an arthroscopic is inserted into the joint, allowing the surgeon to view the structures inside the knee or shoulder with high precision. This approach ensures less pain, fewer complications, faster recovery, and quicker return to daily activities.
This technique is typically performed on joints like the knee, shoulder, or ankle, and it’s often preferred due to its smaller incisions, which result in less pain, quicker recovery, and reduced scarring compared to traditional open surgery. Arthroscopy is commonly used for treating conditions such as torn cartilage, joint inflammation, or repairing damaged ligaments. The procedure can often be done on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to return home the same day.
